Seventeen year old Jake Howells made his home debut in the Hatters 1-0 defeat against Huddersfield.

Richard Langley also made his return to the squad since his injury during pre-season, as a second half substitute, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Hatters slipping to another defeat.

Huddersfield took the lead on 77 minutes when Phil Jevons headed the ball past Dean Brill and into the net.

Richard Jackson replaced the injured Keith Keane while Paul McVeigh was put on the bench, giving Calvin Andrew a start.

Lewis Emanuel had an early shot on 13 minutes when a pass from Stephen O'Leary allowed Emanuel to fire down the centre, straight into the arms of keeper Matt Glennon.

Huddersfield should have done better in the 16th minute but Andy Holdworth booted the ball over after a cross from Danny Schofield.

Once again O'Leary managed to find the keepers arms, this time with a free kick on 28 minutes.

Parkin had two shots in ten minutes, the first he headed over on 35 minutes, before shooting the other wide.

HALF TIME: LUTON 0-0 HUDDERSFIELD

Ed Asafu-Adjaye was unlucky to see his shot dribble wide on 50 minutes following confusion in the Huddersfield area after a corner kick.

The visitors were forced to defend again, when a Darren Currie cross found Don Hutchison just outside the area, who fired the ball goalwards before it was finally cleared by the defence.

A mistake by the Luton defenders almost saw them go a goal down, but luckily for the Hatters Dean Brill pulled out an impressive save.

However, Huddersfield finally broke the deadlock on 77 minutes, when a cross from Joe Skarz allowed substitute Jevons to header the ball home.
